About us...

The band has been playing in one form or another for about ten years, with James at the heart of things, squeezing tunes out of a variety of boxes and at events in many surprising places.  We're currently ...  (from left to right in the photo above) :
  • Folk Against FascismFiona on bass
  • Steve on guitar, vocals, and various shaky things
  • Ed on guitar, fiddle and vocals
  • Venetia on fiddle and viola
  • James on melodeon, accordion and concertina
  • Philip on percussion and mandolin
Also starring Rob and Wendy as callers... (third picture down on the right)

What we offer

We have a repertoire that includes dance tunes for ceilidhs and songs and tunes that can be enjoyed just as well from a seated position.

We've played at weddings, civil partnerships, birthdays, fundraising socials, multicultural events ... and by and large are willing to do so again. We can provide a full evening's music for dancing, a 'listening' evening (ok, with some joining in if you're lucky) and all variations between.

What we cost

For a full evening - between £250 and £300

Where we play

Mostly around the North West of England - particularly Greater Manchester.  With lots of notice and encouragement and promise of a good audience we can be persuaded to travel further afield.

Village halls, churches, marquees, arts centres... so long as there's enough space for the six of us and our kit (we like stages!), and enough space for dancing if you want it.
